FAQs

Who should attend?

Staff physicians (Early, Mid & Late career), Senior Residents and Fellows or medical students who are seeking more advanced/in-depth discussions on personal finance beyond what is taught in medical school and residency. In the past, we had departments sponsor its members to attend.

Can I attend if I’m not from Ontario?

The purpose of this conference is to be inclusive of physicians Canada-wide. We encourage province-specific questions, however the discussions will be on a general and informative level.

Are you sponsored?

To ensure our content is unbiased and evidence-based, our speaker selection criteria aims to select speakers who have no or minimal conflicts of interest. We encourage our speakers to declare conflicts of interest when applicable. For our partnerships, we receive unrestricted grants for research.

How do I get involved with the conference?

We are always excited to engage with medical students and residents who are interested in financial education. Please contact us via our website or social media links if you would like to get involved.

Is there a discount for group orders?

Our conference fees are <1/10th the price of similar financial conferences, and we endeavour to keep the conference fees low and accessible to everyone (solo attendees as well as department groups). If you are joining as part of a department or residency program, please contact us to inquire about group discounts for >10 people.

Will a recording be made available?

A recording will be made available to ticket holders for 1 year after the conference. Recordings will be available on the ticket holder's eventbrite account 1-2 days post-conference. To watch highlights of past recordings, please visit: https://www.youtube.com/@PFIconference

Can I claim CME credits for this conference?

For Mainpro+ credits, you can claim a Non-Certified credit and Royal College Self-Learning credits for sessions focused on Physician Wellness but not on Physician Finance.

Do I get a charitable donation receipt?

We do not provide charitable donation receipts. However conference fees are tax deductible with the eventbrite receipt. Donations to The Equity Award will generate a charitable tax receipt. If you wish to make a contribution, please click here.

What is The Equity Award?

The Equity Award is an needs-based award for a medical student who has demonstrated commitment to improving the resources and opportunities for students with high financial need. This endowment fund is established using the proceeds from the ticket sales of the conference and aims to distribute awards in perpetuity. More information on this award will be provided at the conference.
